Trying Something New

Ever since seeing my friend Katie's bow blog I have been wanting to try this, then my sister Kristin did some bows for her little girl that turned out super cute inspiring me further. So, tonight after Eraleigh went to bed I made Richard try it with me.

The photos turned out awful, messing up the colors but you get the idea.

First attempt.
AWFUL! Too big and not a good ribbon for a beginner...

Second try
Used a different method/set of instructions. I felt much better about this one.
Its actually bright red with white.

Try #3: Mauve

#4: The white one. I just put it on the purple because taking a picture of white on white doesn't work very well

Erin's Turn

The other night Richard was making some more ID holders and asked me to try one. I was happy with how it turned out. Simple, but I like it. What do you think??

I Better Explain

Kristin K asked a question about my word album that helped me realize I had better explain myself....

BoBunny makes the albums in a variety of different words including family, love, baby, grade, etc... you can see them all at the following:
I am also a little spoiled since the scrapbooking here in town has a company that does other words as requested. Right now we have ALASKA, KODIAK, FISHING, and USCG (Coast Guard)
No matter where they come from though they come as plain chipboard and then you can either paint, or cover them with paper. Depending on the word this can take up to couple hours. I think this one tookk me 2 1/2 - 3 but I am pretty picky and it was a longer word. (I am sure others would be much faster at this). After that you just add the pictures, journaling and embellishments and it comes together pretty nicely.

Really there is no way to go wrong!

Christmas Word-Album

After finishing up my mom's birthday present I finally sat down and finished my Christmas mini-word album with my photos from last year. Overall I really like how it turned out although I will most likely redo one spread later, but for now it is being showcased at the Craft Garden. :)

Baby Bracelet

A cute little baby bracelet by Richard

Beautiful Simplicity

When it comes to Jewelry Richard really enjoys doing complicated and ellaborate designs. Lately we have finally convinced him to simplify his designs and I really like some of the stuff he has come out with. Here are a few...

ID Holders

Inspired by the hospital staff having to wear around IDs Richard started making ID holders. Here are the first two...

Birthday Party Invitations

Sure it is simple but I love it and Halie was sooo excited.

Halloween Party Invitations

For weeks Richard has been saying he wanted to make invitations for a Halloween Party we are holding. Finally tonight we decided we had better get them done and so we came home, pulled out my new Halloween stamps and had a little fun. Here is what we came up with...

I almost forgot

Here is the latest layout I turned it. Simple, but I like it!

I think my favorite part of this layout was sewing on the pumpkins with the green ribbon and tying it into a bow at top. I also like how Ben's October photo was "hung" with ribbbon like a photo on a wall.

Fruits of my Labor

I started with a "naked" chipboard album like this....

and did this...

It doesn't look like I did much but covered and cutting out the front and back of all those letter took quite a bit of time. I am anxious now to get it all finished and will be sure to post it once I have. Wish me luck! :)
